Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing biomedical research and pharmaceutical innovation by accelerating drug discovery,
enhancing diagnostic accuracy, and enabling precision medicine. The traditional drug discovery process, characterized by
high costs and long development cycles, is being transformed by AI algorithms capable of analyzing complex biological data
and predicting molecular interactions with remarkable accuracy. This review explores the growing role of AI across various
stages of drug discovery — from target identification and compound screening to clinical trial optimization and personalized
therapy. It also discusses the integration of AI with omics technologies, bioinformatics, and digital health platforms, along with
the ethical challenges and regulatory implications of AI-driven drug development. The paper concludes by emphasizing that
the synergy between human expertise and machine intelligence is ushering in a new era of efficiency, innovation, and patientcentered
healthcare.
